My Journey
Tanya is one of many who have experienced complex trauma throughout her life. Due to her struggle with emotional dysregulation, and lack of positive coping skills, she struggled to feel safe being vulnerable with herself, let alone anyone else. She sought adoration and validation she was so desperate for through external sources, and was consistently left feeling empty. By her mid-twenties, she felt burnt out and unimpressed with her life and her future. She was unfulfilled with her job, relationships, family dynamics…but mostly with herself. She finally hit her breaking point in the midst of a global pandemic while working as the social worker at a long-term care facility on the covid unit. It was during this time that it occurred to her, that if she didn’t love herself, why should she expect anyone else to?
This newfound awareness supported her to stop making excuses and to finally take some accountability for her life, and to finally prioritize herself. From then on, she became completely and utterly obsessed with self-development and the sacred practice of self-love. In conjunction with implementing a self-care routine, a large part of her awakening involved starting therapy herself, and processing the grief she had avoided for so long. The insights and profound shift that Tanya experienced along the way is what inspired her to become a therapist. Her personal transformation is what motivates her to provide others with the same safety that allowed her to truly begin to process her pain, and move forward into the best version of herself.
Vulnerability is the essence of our humanity. It is what connects us to our magic. Our pause is our power~ the entryway towards consciousness.
